P!nk And Eminem Reunite And Wreak Havoc On New Song ‘Revenge’

[ad_1]

Eminem’s been on a tear recently. Everyone’s talking about his Trump-blasting BET Cypher this week, while rumors of his highly anticipated ninth album continue to swirl. Now, he’s popped up again on a vengeful pop-rap collab from P!nk’s Beautiful Trauma, out today (October 13).

On “Revenge,” Em and P!nk seek retribution from their no-good, cheating exes. “I’m daydreamin’, let me count the ways / How I’ll get you or how I’ll make you pay / Babe, I’m hurtin’ and now you’ll feel the same,” P!nk casually sings over a bouncy instrumental that wouldn’t sound out of place on early Eminem albums. The rapper comes in later with an uncharacteristically laid-back verse, rhyming, “So when you’re driving, driving to his house / And you pass me while I’m driving to hers / Just remember, you cheated on me first / You’re a whore, you’re a whore, this is war.”

“Revenge” follows the duo’s previous collaborations: 2010’s “Won’t Back Down” and 2012’s “Here Comes the Weekend.” P!nk told Entertainment Weekly that Eminem’s involvement on “Revenge” was the result of some serious liquid courage.

“Max [Martin] and I started making [‘Revenge’], and I wrote this rap,” she said. “We were drinking a lot of wine, and then I went home and I thought more wine would be a good idea. I emailed [Eminem]. And I said, ‘You know I love you. I like that you work with a lot of the same people, like Rihanna. She’s hotter than me, but I’m funnier. So I’m going for a rap Grammy, and I’d like to take you along with me.’ It was this long email, and he wrote back right away and just said, ‘Okay.’”

Eminem sent his verse back four days later, and the rest is Grammy-aspiring history.

Logic’s ‘1-800-273-8255’ Gets A Beautiful Bilingual Remix With Juanes

[ad_1]

Chances are, you’ve listened to (and maybe cried along to) Logic’s hit single “1-800-273-8255” a time or two. But just when it started getting engrained in your head, Logic has given it a fresh remix that only elevates its powerful message about suicide prevention.

The Everybody rapper has tapped Colombian superstar Juanes for a Spanish remix of “1-800,” named after the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Alessia Cara and Khalid’s original cameos remain in-tact on the new bilingual version, while Juanes reworks the pre-chorus and chorus with his smooth Spanish croon.

“I don’t want to wait for someone to come save me,” Juanes sings in Spanish. “I can’t heal / Let me explain.” He later gets more optimistic, singing, “I want to see you dream / I want to see you fly / Don’t let yourself fall / Don’t feel down.”

Following the remix’s release, Juanes tweeted, “I love being part of a song with such a powerful message. With music, we can help those who are in the dark side of life.” He reiterated the same message in an interview with Billboard, saying, “I think these days when everything’s about dancing and having a good time, it’s fresh to find a hit song like this one that’s talking about serious issues.”

Logic released “1-800-273-8255” in April and and shared the track’s powerful music video in August. That same month, he, Cara, and Khalid performed the song at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, surrounded by suicide attempt and loss survivors. Revisit the powerful performance below.

Yo Gotti And Ezinma Teamed Up To Perform “Rake It Up”

[ad_1]

Memphis rapper Yo Gotti closed out TRL‘s scholarship week with a fired up performance of his 30 Roc and Mike WiLL Made-It-produced strip club anthem “Rake It Up.” Since the Nicki Minaj-assisted single was released back in June, it has peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with a 12-week long run.

Before he hit the stage, we brought out classically trained violinist Ezinma to show us an IRL version of her viral cover of the song though. In a totally unscripted moment, Gotti wound up inviting Ezinma to perform the track with him in the studio!

Gotti’s I Still Am album is slated to drop on October 27. Watch him turn up in the studio in the video, below. TRL airs on weekdays at 3:30pm ET!

Jessica Rothe Got Spooked On TRL

[ad_1]

Friday the 13th was a special day at TRL with Happy Death Day star Jessica Rothe stopping by the studio. Following last night’s premiere, Variety reports that the film racked up $1 million in box office sales. Rothe happens to be an MTV alum with her previous role on the 2016 show Mary + Jane so it was great to have a fam member back home!

During Rothe’s studio visit, we put the actress’ screaming abilities to the ultimate test by having her play Wheel-O-Screams against DC Young Fly (all hail the new Scream Queen)! After that, she told us about her experience of starring in a horror flick and then played us a scene from the movie. Unfortunately for her, DC wouldn’t let her move on from the masked menace and gave her quite a scare before she left (which she laughed it off like a true professional).

Watch it all go down in the video below. Tune into TRL next week at 3:30pm ET!

Gabbie Hanna Was A Total Game Star On TRL

[ad_1]

Gabbie Hanna brought her A-game to Times Square when she had a sync-off with a lucky contestant from the audience. During the show, TRL also had the honor of previewing a sneak peak of her new music video “Out Loud,” which will be coming soon!

After she played a round of Requestions with a bunch of her biggest fans, our social media correspondent invited a guest to literally rake up some cash from a huge pile of leaves. As you can see in the video below, it was a lot harder and messier than it sounds. (P.S. We want our dollar back!)

We can’t wait to see what Gabbie winds up doing when she’s back on the program next week. Tune into TRL on weekdays at 3:30pm ET!

Thursday Night Drop, Week 2: King Krule, St. Vincent, Mabel & more

[ad_1]

Here’s why Thursday is low-key the best day of the week: before the weekend hits, there’s almost always an outpour of album releases on Friday. Most of these new faves drop right at midnight, which means staying up all night for that first glorious listen. If you’re also hunting for fresh new sounds, scroll down and get familiar with all of the artists on our list in the roundup, below.

King Krule- The OOZ

What could be better than the fusion of jazz and punk? Archy Marshall and his crew have gone and done it again with another spectacular album that gets you grooving in all the right places. It’s an outpour of all the complex, tender, and downright nasty things contained within every human being. We’ll see you in the mosh pit!

dvsn- Morning After

Is that smoke or steam coming out of your speakers? Either way, light a candle, pour a glass of something bubbly, and bump and grind to this record immediately. These sweet and sexy jams are the perfect way to electric slide into the weekend.

Mabel- Ivy & Rose EP

Make way for the next wave of R&B! Mabel McVey has been taking her sweet time releasing new music so we’re lucky that she’s decided to drop this surprise mixtape. Timing wise, it’s arrived during the season when we truly need it most. (We wish you the best of luck with all your cuffing!)

St. Vincent- MASSEDUCTION

It’s time we observe present day America outside of the cisgender heteropatriarchal lens. Nobody asked for Annie Clark’s commentary, but we desperately needed it. This album is full of bangers, ballads, and pick-me-ups that will open your mind to new dimensions.

Brent Faiyaz- Sonder Son

The sultry voice behind Sonder is stepping out on his own, and his debut full-length album doesn’t disappoint. If you haven’t already been obsessing over the R&B group, you’ve probably heard Faiyaz before on GoldLink’s hit single “Crew.”

P!nk- Beautiful Trauma

Your favorite soul sister is back with her seventh studio album and it’s crammed with what she describes as “emotional dance floor anthems.” Crying in the club is officially cool again!

The Dolan Twins Struck Gold On TRL

[ad_1]

Today, the call of legions of TRL fans to see more Dolan Twins action was finally answered. As usual, Ethan and Grayson made a hilarious entrance by crowd surfing into the studio. After catching us up on what’s been going on in their lives since the last time we saw them (literally a week ago), we picked a few fans from the audience to bowl with them—literally. The loser of Dolan Pins had to drink Gatorade out of a dirty rental shoe. (Sorry, Grayson!)

Later on, DC Young Fly took the brothers into Times Square to answer Requestions from a bunch of their biggest fans. After that, the boys came back inside for an epic round of fan-submitted Dolan Dares. All of the dares on the wheel were randomly selected from submissions on Twitter so shoutouts to the fans. Watch it all go down in the video, below. Tune into TRL on weekdays at 3:30pm ET for more!
